Eco Retreats Named in Greentraveller’s Top 5 Yurts For 2014

It has been all go here at Eco Retreats  this summer with the season providing an abundance of visitors both old and new  filling our yurts and tipis and it seems our site has received quite a lot of attention too. You may remember we were recently featured in Soul and Spirit magazine  but it seems like that was just the beginning as Greentraveller has named us as one of their top 5 yurt camps.

Greentraveller was founded in 2006 by Guardian journalist Richard Hammond as a means of helping people to find holidays with a lower impact on the environment in comparison to the standard long haul flight holidays. It was through their work advertising eco holidays that Greentraveller began to champion companies with an environmentally friendly ethos. Over recent years Greentraveller has became the first port of call for people looking for high quality eco holidays so we were honoured to be recognised by them as one of the top yurt sites around.

Greentraveller wrote that :

“The two yurts are secreted in the 50 acres of secluded woodland, looking out over the rolling hills. Luxury comes in the form of organic bed linen and sheepskin rugs, and atmospherically lit by a good number of candles, lanterns, and a central wood burning ‘chimenea’. If it gets nippy at night, there is a wood burner, and all furnishings are from either local, recycled or fair trade sources. Each yurt has access to its own washing and toilet unit, with a fresh spring-water shower just outside. You have to heat up your own water so you can keep a count on how much you’re using. Deep in the forest and miles from anywhere, find some peace and quiet in the sumptuous surroundings of these well-furnished yurts.”
