We carefully research each product we use and pay attention to the ethiscore rating and listing. We avoid using products that have been subjected to greenwash or that are owned by a parent company that is responsible for either dodgy ethics or disregard for the environment in other ways.
Whatever we do here at the site will directly affect it so all of our cleaning products, washing up liquid, hand soap and shampoo etc. adhere to strict biodegradable and ecological criteria and all food products we provide for you are certified organic and fair-trade.
When we are sourcing our products we will endeavour to use independent companies and shops local to us. If we cannot source from our area we will look first to products made in the UK. When looking for soft furnishings we only use companies that have strict fair trade principles and research their supply chain to ensure that this is not being abused. Our soft furnishings need to be to the highest standards - we have phased in organic, fair trade, unbleached cotton sheets and towels, organic sheepskins, fair trade rugs and cushion covers (either that, or we have fun making the cushion covers ourselves).
We really consider where we spend our money and regularly contribute to Water Aid, The Voice of the Children Project, The White Buffalo Fund, Coed Heddwch (Trees of Peace) as well as other good causes such as The Center for Biological Diversity, Action Aid and Friends of the Earth.

In order to ensure that we are doing all we can, we work with Green Dragon and we have been certified to Level 2.
We hope that our guests can also treat the land with respect and feel truly nourished by staying in these beautiful surroundings.
