While most of our guests are couples, we're welcoming more and more families who are looking for a place to escape the tv and computer and simply enjoy being together in beautiful surroundings. You'll find a huge playground of woods, meadows, streams and hills in and around the Eco Retreats site. This is a place where both children and parents can unwind and rediscover the joys of paddling in the river, chopping wood and sharing food around the fire.
We are very remote - about twenty minutes' drive down the forest track. So please do bear this in mind if you're looking for an action-packed holiday - that's not really what we can offer you. But once you've reached the main road there's plenty to do in the locality - the Centre for Alternative Technology and King Arthur's Labyrinth are less than five minutes' along the A487, go a couple of miles further and you can be in Machynlleth or at the foot of Cadair Idris and we're also only about forty minutes' drive from Ynys Hir Bird reserve and the stunning beaches of Ynys Las and Aberdyfi.

As there is only a double bed in the tipi's and the yurt we can provide your children with a good quality inflatable carrymat and pillows that the children can get cosy on, on the floor. We will ensure you have all the cutkery and crockery for your family, but you will need to bring sleeping bags and bedding for them. Do contact us if you have any questions or specific needs.
Alternatively, we can put up our beautiful bell tent just next door to the tipi or the yurt. This means the children can have their own space to retreat to, this is more suitable for older children and there is a strict rule of no candles in there.
