Welcome to our blog page.

July, 2011

So this is the first time we have done anything like this, but we have decided maybe its time to put a toe in the water here!

The site is looking fab at the minute, lush and green, the orchids are out and the meadow is at its best plenty of eyebright, red clover and wild grasses, I love it, my favorite time of year!

I was having a chat with someone the other day about the whole "Glamping" genre and we can't help but notice  the huge increase in people putting up a yurt or tipi (or 3) in their spare field. It seems so we have heard that many people are cashing in on this trend and are doing this to capitilise on the popularity of people wanting to take time out in beautiful surroundings, under canvas.

We have some good friends that went on a research mission ironically they were thinking about putting a "retreat" yurt on their land, they were shocked by what they found. They said they found, tipi's, yurts and bell tents right on top of each other with no space to be, mouldy miserable kitchen spaces, unclean showers and shabby furnishings.

It is important to make clear that there are some fabulous places out there as well as ours, these are people who really do it well and are passionate about  what they are providing, being able to be under canvas, in a wonderful outdoor environment, and they consider they are stewards of the surrounds, rather than seeing it as a cash cow!

With us, we really love what we do, we want to be really clear about what you get with us, we have 5 tipis and 1 yurt spread out over  a HUGE area, you cannot see your neighbours, you cannot hear your neighbours, there is no evening campfire scene in a central area, what we specialise in is space, freedom, comfort and being able to enjoy being outside!

People are continually amazed about the fact that we do not squeeze in more spots, we just love the fact you have freedom to be and to breathe, this is what we are committed to, this doesn't mean that you can't bring children, we have families that come back year after year, you can come with mates who can be in a different spot, you just have to walk a small distance between the two!

We really look forward to welcoming you.
