According to The Met Office Britain is set for an extended summer:

“Overall, the probability that the UK-mean temperature for September-October-November will fall into the warmest of our five categories is around 35% and the probability of falling into the coldest of our five categories is between 10 and 15%.”

The sunny outlook will help make up for damp-squib August which dragged the UK’s overall mean temperature this summer down to around 14.8C (59F) – just 0.5C above average.”
